Animation Unit Creating a Low Poly Scene Students choose Theme according to interest. Thew output rendered image will be a Post Card Image for print. Scope: Students are given the challenge to create a scene, built on research, concept sketches, incorporating simple shapes and geometric elements, progressing to a 3D Environment to build their proposed scene; using simple low polygonal primitives, box modelling and extruding techniques to implement all their necessary elements, including adding simple colours and lights, that goes into their built final shot.
Note: Students are required to place all the elements in a framed shot, using principles of Composition, Framing, Rule of Thirds, and Hierachy of Information to communicate their proposed Post Card Scene. Theme Options: Snowman with a hut and trees, Santa's village, Clock Tower village, a Minecraft Scene build with Cubic Forms, a city scene with buildings with the addition of a space ship and or a robot, or possibly a scene from a story, movie or a scene from game that they are interested in... Teacher Direction: Please showcase the following links and have a class discussion regarding, creativity, expression, art, game design, points of inspiration, journey of acquiring skill sets to express communicate such ideas, as well as possible links to future career pathways and post-secondary destinations that offer such programs.

1-research theme, plus references of all elements that they would like to incorporate in their scene. 2- Discuss direction with Teacher and receive suggestions and for the "go-ahead" approval. 3- Sketch out concepts, thumbnails of all items loosely, in order to develop ideas 4-Practice the Learning Blender Lessons at school and at home 5- Create simple low polygonal elements in scene, duplicate elements as necessary, eventually work towards extruding polygons to make more complex shapes.

NEW Blender Lessons I have made the decision to deliver my program to be as much as possible software agnostic, making the approach towards free software that is not too taxing in terms of hardware for home and school use. working my way to incorporate Blender into our program, the entire file is less that 200MB, has the ability of creating 3D Objects with ease, Colour and Texture primitives, Sculpt objects, 2D & 3D Animate characters, composite shots, as well as VFX, it's simply mind boggling as to the ability breadth of possibilities within this application.
